Take office as Mayor of Brisbane

Brisbane, Australia · 26 people · Coastal City

The Brisbane River Transit Directorate and the Queensland Capital Projects Bureau structure floating pedestrian biowalkways along tidal waterfronts, construct large solar canopy shelters, and expand carbon neutral transit lanes.

The record Brisbane keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: South Bank Parklands & Story Bridge.

• The Brisbane River Transit Directorate implements solar shielded public river walkways and automated water monitoring channels to naturally digest flash stormwater discharges.
• The Queensland Capital Projects Bureau directs infrastructure development funds to accelerate carbon neutral transit lanes and elevated active pedestrian networks before regional games.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record Brisbane keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
