Take office as Mayor of Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia · 106 people · Coastal City

The Jakarta Coastal Defense Bureau and the National Capital Capitalization Agency manage the Great Garuda sea wall construction, operate high powered river pump stations to prevent delta flooding, and construct regional MRT tracks and subway connections.

The record Jakarta keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: National Monument (Monas).

• The Jakarta Coastal Defense Bureau coordinates massive seawall sea barrier construction and river dredging projects, implementing deep flood protection canals to prevent sea water intrusion.
• The National Capital Capitalization Agency successfully financed regional electric BRT lanes and underground flood drainage tubes through public infrastructure funds.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record Jakarta keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
