Take office as Mayor of Medina

Medina, Saudi Arabia · 15 people · Heritage City

The Al-Madinah Region Development Authority manages crowd safety logistics, implements the high speed Haramain Express Train terminal, and expands pedestrian only heritage zones.

The record Medina keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.

• Al-Masjid an-Nabawi features 250 massive retractable giant umbrellas equipped with automatic water misting units to cool visitors in the external plazas.
• The Haramain High Speed Railway links Medina to Jeddah and Makkah, transporting millions of pilgrims annually via quiet, zero emission electric bullet trains.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record Medina keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
