Take office as Mayor of San Francisco

San Francisco, United States · 808,000 people · Technology Hub

The SF Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and the Bay Area Technology and Venture Commission deploy automated digital transit networks, design advanced seismic structural building codes, and protect vulnerable shoreline habitats.

The record San Francisco keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: Golden Gate Bridge.

• The SFMTA operates extensive integrated electric bus fleets and cable car grids powered entirely by Sierra Nevada geothermal and hydroelectric facilities.
• The Bay Area Technology and Venture Commission partners with local venture funds to deploy smart grid solar and microbattery storage units in public housing projects.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record San Francisco keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
