The Wellington Seismic Resilience Office and the Greater Wellington Regional Council implement seismic base isolation building retrofits, deploy electric eco ferry connections, and execute seismic base isolation retrofits.

The record Wellington keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: Beehive Parliament Building & Cable Car.

• The Wellington Seismic Resilience Office installs massive laminated rubber shock absorbers beneath public buildings to damp high intensity fault triggers.
• The Regional Council floats green transit notes to finance the world's first fully electric, high speed sea commuter catamaran fleet across Cook Strait.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record Wellington keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
