Take office as Mayor of Kingston

Kingston, Jamaica · 670,000 people · Coastal City

The Kingston Harbor Sanitation Directorate and the Blue Capital Development Bureau deploy floating waste interceptor nets, mandate zero carbon port shipping corridors, and harden gully drainage channels against hurricane storm surges.

The record Kingston keeps on the Board of Mayors is still unwritten. Take office and write its opening chapter.

The city

Landmark: Bob Marley Museum & Devon House.

• The Kingston Harbor Sanitation Directorate implements solar powered river trash collectors to preserve marine bays and beachfront coral nurseries.
• The Blue Capital Development Bureau utilizes blue economy grants to subsidize sustainable fishing fleets and offshore wind power testing platforms.

How a term works

Take office and each day brings a live situation from the city's services: a decision to make and a result that is measured. A term is judged on approval, infrastructure, environment and innovation, within the city's budget, and every term adds to the record Kingston keeps on the Board of Mayors. Mayors message and confer with one another, form councils, trade with neighbouring cities and send aid where it is needed. Cities rise together.
